Car Components That Must be Replaced Rrequently and Serviced Regularly

it0558

High mobility to support business operations, commercial cars need to receive good maintenance. Likewise with private cars, routine use and maintaining comfort of course requires maintenance by paying attention to service times and regular replacement of parts or spare parts because basically some parts will experience wear and tear with daily use.

In the automotive world, routine maintenance is the key to maintaining car performance and safety. Many car owners often ignore the importance of regular servicing, which can have a negative impact on the performance and lifespan of the vehicle. This article will discuss several car components that must be replaced frequently and serviced regularly to ensure your vehicle remains in optimal condition.

Here you can see a general overview of what car spare parts routinely need to be replaced during service, the price range, and the recommended normal usage before making a replacement.

So let's look at the parts in question one by one, and replace them on time so as not to cause serious damage.

1. Oil and Oil Filter

These two car spare parts keep the car operating well, and engine friction becomes smoother. Without good oil, the engine will rub and wear out quickly.

When the oil is changed, you can also clean the dirt in the engine or residue that appears. On the other hand, replacing the filter is aimed at filtering dirt so that the oil is always clean.

Filters and oil can be replaced according to conditions. But ideally, checks can be done every 10,000 km. The costs themselves are quite affordable, filter replacement requires less than IDR 50,000 and oil starts from IDR 700,000.

2. Air Filter

The air filter itself has the role of filtering the air that enters the car's combustion chamber, so that the required amount of oxygen can be obtained. A dirty filter can reduce engine efficiency and increase fuel consumption. Checks are also carried out regularly every 18 months or 30,000 km of use.

At an official repair shop, service and replacement will cost around IDR 150,000. This price can vary depending on the type of car and brand used.

3. Spark plug

It is quite small in size, but plays a significant role in starting the car engine so that ignition can occur. Over time, the spark plugs will become dirty and make it difficult to start the car.

Not only that, spark plugs that have passed their ideal lifespan will increase fuel consumption, thereby increasing expenditure on mobility. In general, spark plug replacement can be done every 20,000 km to 50,000 by checking its condition and the type of spark plug used.

The price of the spark plug is quite affordable, around IDR 20,000 to IDR 250,000 depending on the type (standard spark plug, iridium spark plug, or platinum spark plug). In the future, the total installation and replacement costs will reach a maximum of IDR 600,000.

4. Brakes (Brake Pads & Brake Fluid)

To reduce speed and maintain safety, brake function is crucial. Therefore, this car spare part must be carefully considered and ensured that it can always carry out its role optimally.

Brake pads will become thinner as the car is used, and the amount of brake fluid will also decrease. For cars with manual transmission, brake linings need to be replaced between 60,000 km and 70,000 km of driving, while for automatic cars around half that time.

The cost for replacing brake linings ranges from IDR 350,000 to IDR 600,000 including replacement services. Meanwhile, brake fluid will cost around IDR 200,000 to IDR 400,000.

5. Front & Rear Lights

Not only as lighting, the lights in the car also play a big role in the visibility of the car for other drivers when on the road. The risk of an accident will increase drastically when the car lights are not functioning properly, which can cause fatalities and losses.

In fact, there is no distance or time reference that can be given for servicing and replacing front or rear lights. But the electrical components of the lights are something that must be checked regularly when servicing them.

Because the lighting technology used varies, the price range is also quite large. Standard bulb models start from IDR 100,000 and for DRL lamps, for example, you can prepare around IDR 2,500,000 when you come to the repair shop.

6. Car Tires

Being one of the car spare parts that is most visible when it wears out, tires should also be replaced regularly when the car is frequently used. Good tires provide optimal grip on the asphalt so that the car does not slip easily. Tire replacement should be done every 40,000 to 80,000 km or when signs of wear are visible.

Not only replacing tires, tires can also be given treatment in the form of spooring and balancing with the aim of straightening the position of the four wheels and balancing their position.

Spooring and balancing can be done at an affordable price, around IDR 10,000 to IDR 20,000 per tire and around IDR 150,000 for balancing.

7. Clutch Pad

The main function of the clutch lining is to disconnect and connect the power produced by the engine to the transmission system. The clutch lining is usually replaced once every 30,000 km to 40,000 km of use. Signs that it's time for replacement are also quite noticeable, when the car's acceleration becomes slower or the transmission shifts become uncomfortable.

A worn out clutch lining can reduce driving comfort and also increase safety risks. The replacement cost range is IDR 800,000 to IDR 2,000,000, depending on the car you use.

Car maintenance should ideally be carried out regularly, taking into account its use. By looking at the picture above, now you understand what spare parts you should pay attention to, replacement and service times, and the cost range. A car that is well maintained will reduce the risk of serious damage or sudden breakdown which will definitely make you trouble when driving.
